sleepless nights
have taken hold of my eyes.
You can see the shade beneath.
in these dark times,
all there is to do is sleep,
and lack thereof, just means you can’t;
fall into a crowd,
fall into a crowd,
fall into a crowd.
it makes me hate to feel good
for it never sticks
just settles down
like rippling water
reminding me I’m not whole
reminding me all I see is defeat
to belong keeps me sober
so i join in make believe
in the happiness others haven’t truly found
always built on the outside
spilling their emptiness on me.
And though I know it’s real
it seems no one is barred
from accepting the intangibility
of what is meant to be touched.
all things of worthy heart
have been lost in a created truth
that caters to weakness
believing right is wrong
and wrong is right.
and so sleepless nights
have taken hold of my eyes.
You can see the shade beneath.
in these dark times,
all there is to do is sleep,
so sleep
sleep
Another song that’s in progress. Not sure what I think about it yet.

if only you let love
find you when it’s given
you’d never make it up
the drama that you live in
your cup
could be full
like you’ve never known
but you’re waiting
to duplicate some vision
that you have of love
set aside in a shiny glass case
and since nothing can compare
you think it never shows it’s face.
how can you live
50 odd years
and not realize
what you’re looking for
(higher vox)
tries to
fill you’re eyes
everyday
everyday
I don’t like scenes. I think too much emphasis is placed on liking the “right things.” but those things are usually the kind of clothes a person likes and the music they listen to. I’m not innocent of thinking about people though my “like the right things” filter. I just know that I don’t want to be that way. The way-too-average kid who has never heard of your joanna newsom, and has never stepped inside of an american apparel might just have the qualities that really matter, and the kids that you’re trying to be popular with, might just be life sucking vampires. in fact, I think they are. run.
I’ll be recording soon… more to follow
